Warm Up Your Winter with this Delicious Mulled Wine Snack Pairing

As the colder weather approaches, there's nothing quite like cozying up with a warm cocktail to get into the holiday spirit. One of my all-time favorites is mulled wine - the spices, the warmth, the hint of sweetness. It's the perfect drink to enjoy on a crisp evening, whether you're cuddled up on the couch with a good book or out on a romantic date.

Speaking of romantic dates, I recently had a great one that included a glass of mulled wine. It was the perfect setting - a cozy little restaurant, a crackling fireplace, and, of course, the delicious drink in hand. As we sipped on our wine, I couldn't help but think about what would be the perfect snack to pair with it. After a bit of brainstorming, I came up with a recipe that I just had to share.

This snack is the ultimate accompaniment to your mulled wine. It's easy to make, uses simple ingredients, and is guaranteed to impress your date (or anyone else you're sharing it with). Plus, it's the perfect combination of sweet and savory, with a little bit of crunch thrown in for good measure. Trust me, you won't be able to resist reaching for seconds (or thirds).

Ingredients:

  • 1 baguette
  • 4 oz soft goat cheese
  • 4 oz honey
  • 4 oz chopped nuts (I used a mixture of almonds and pistachios)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Slice the baguette into thin slices, about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Spread the goat cheese onto each slice of bread.
  4. Drizzle the honey on top of the goat cheese.
  5. Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the top of the honey.
  6. Place the bread onto a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are crispy and the cheese is melted.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy with your mulled wine.

I hope you give this snack a try the next time you're sipping on a warm mug of mulled wine. It's sure to be a hit with anyone you're sharing it with. Happy sipping and snacking!
