Now, I consider myself somewhat of a margarita connoisseur. I've had my fair share of good and bad margaritas, but I have to say, the margaritas I had in Corfu were next level. And I'm not just talking about the taste (although they were delicious), I'm talking about the entire experience.
You see, our group of friends had rented a villa for the weekend and we decided to make our own margaritas. But little did we know, we were in for a hilarious misadventure.
First of all, we quickly realized that we had no idea how to make a proper margarita. We didn't have a recipe, and none of us had ever made one before. So, we did what any resourceful group of friends would do and consulted Google.
After scouring the internet for recipes, we gathered our ingredients and set to work. But as it turns out, mixing tequila, lime juice, and triple sec is a lot harder than it looks. We ended up with a variety of concoctions, some too sweet, some too sour, and some that were just plain undrinkable. But we didn't let that stop us, we kept experimenting and laughing.
One of the funniest moments was when we ran out of triple sec, so one of my friends decided to substitute it with blue curaƧao. The result was a neon blue margarita that looked like it was straight out of a sci-fi movie. And let me tell you, it was an experience to remember.
We also discovered that in order to make the perfect margarita, you needed a proper tool set. We ended up using a soup ladle to mix our drinks, and a pair of tongs to hold the lime slices, it was so ridiculous but it was so much fun.
But despite the mishaps and misadventures, we had a blast. We laughed, we drank, and we made memories that we'll never forget. And to this day, I still can't think of a margarita without thinking of that wild and hilarious weekend in Corfu.
